There are hundreds of real estate licensees in our area. Choosing the right agent for your home can be confusing. It is especially difficult when you speak with several different agents, they all seem so convincing. There is a way to determine who is the mostly likely to succeed in getting your price and terms. The key is knowing the right questions to ask. This is particularly important now, as homes are selling more slowly. The following list provides you with questions to ask your prospective Realtor. The list will not only help you select the right Realtor, but also get you the very best from the once you choose.

Where do you rank among your peers in performance and why should I care?

As one example of your performance capability tell me how many units did you personally (not your team) sell last year, to date this year and what was your total sales volume for these periods? How many units did you sell in my area?

Please show me marketing statistics demonstrating the probability of sale.

What do I gain by listing with a large wholly owned company vs. an individual company or a large umbrella franchise organization?

Why should I care if you have an experienced full time transaction coordinator?

Explain how your marketing plan will help sell my home. May I have a copy for my records?

Specifically, where will I see my home advertised? Will it run continually in any of these media until it is sold? • Multiple Internet Home Marketing Sites • Seattle Times Sunday Real Estate Section With New Listing Emphasis• Newspaper Spot Ads • 24 Hour A Day Scottline Telephone Networking System • Magazine Ads In Various Publications

Explain the marketing strategy behind your flyer.

What are your networking and cross marketing techniques?

What systems do you have in place to keep me informed about agents and prospective purchasers reactions to my property?

How will your telemarketing and mail strategies contribute to the sale of my house?

How do you make yourself accessible to agents, prospects and me 24 hours a day? Which of these systems go direct to you day and night? • Toll free nationwide system • Eastside and greater Seattle access number • Pagers and voice mail • Mobile Phones • Email • Fax at home and at the office
